COMIC BOOK WINDOWS (2020)

 

Comic Book Windows is a collaborative project organised by Babylon Arts Gallery, Ely. I was commissioned by the gallery to create 60 illustrations to be displayed in the gallery's windows during the lockdown period. The illustrations told a story, turning each window into a "comic book page". The illustrations were created in black and white; members of the public were called on to adopt the illustrations and colour/finish them. The results were displayed in the windows. 

During the second phase of the project (June 2020), the gallery held a poetry competition; members of the public were asked to submit their poetry. The two winning entries ("Maybe I Will" by Hebe Young and "The Hole" by Sophie Bell) were then turned into poetry comics, which can be seen below.
